IT salaries, with the source attached.

Use public wage data to understand a job market before choosing a training path. These numbers describe occupations, not the financial return from passing a particular exam.

Source checked: September 20, 2026 · US reference period: May 2025 · Currency: USD · Measure: median annual wage

What the median tells you

Half of workers in an occupation earn more than its median and half earn less. It is not a starting salary, a job offer, or a certification-holder salary. Location, industry, responsibilities, and experience affect the comparison. Some rows combine several occupations; a combined figure should not be presented as the pay for one specific job title.

Cloud engineer and DevOps engineer are employer job titles that may map to different statistical occupations. We do not relabel an architect or administrator figure as a cloud certification salary.

Census and Statistics Department wage and labour earnings tables provide local context. Check the occupational grouping and whether a table reports monthly wages, hourly wages, or an index; these measures are not interchangeable.

We do not convert these measures into a global ranking. Different reference periods, worker populations, hours, taxes, and living costs prevent a simple like-for-like comparison.

Use the data for your own decision

  1. Choose an occupation by its actual duties, then choose your location and experience level.
  2. Compare official data with the published pay ranges of current local vacancies. Keep base salary separate from bonus, equity, and benefits.
  3. Record currency, annual or hourly basis, data year, and working hours. Do not multiply an hourly figure into an annual salary without stating an hours assumption.
  4. Compare training fees, exam fees, lab spending, and study time with your budget. Public wage data does not prove that a certification causes a pay increase.
